[edit] Background

Genetic Alliance is, first and foremost, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with genetic disorders. Upwards of 20 years of experience as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization goes into their efforts to coordinate with advocacy groups and provide resources for them. The GA coalition consists of more than 600 advocacy organizations that serve 25 million people affected by 1000 different genetic conditions. The coalition works to transform leadership in the genetics community to build capacity in advocacy organizations and to educate policymakers by leveraging the voices of individuals and families. Many services are offered to these organizations as members of the Genetic Alliance. Genetic Alliance increases the capacity of genetic advocacy organizations to achieve their missions and leverages the voices of millions of individuals and families living with genetic conditions.
