The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services created in 1982, is the primary Federal agency for improving access to health care services for people who are uninsured, isolated, or medically vulnerable. The Genetic Services Branch, which employs eight people, interacts with Genetic Alliance through many avenues: the Genetic Alliance Annual Conference, the Community Centered Family Health History Project, the Consumer Focused Newborn Screening Initiatives, and more. Located in Rockville, MD, HRSA’s goals center on the betterment of healthcare.
