Intermountain Healthcare is a nonprofit system of hospitals, surgery centers, doctors, and clinics that serves the medical needs of Utah and southeastern Idaho. Key medical services include cancer, heart, women and newborns, orthopedics, sports medicine, and more. Major cities served are Logan, Ogden, Salt Lake City, Provo, and St. George. Intermountain Healthcare serves members in Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho. The organization started in 1905 with the LDS Hospital, but the Clinical Genetics Institute was founded in 2005 to orchestrate efforts within Intermountain Healthcare to apply developments in genetics/genomics to improve the quality and value of health in the Intermountain West.
