[edit] Background

With participants from 60 countries and an internationally moving Presidency and Secretariat, the International Society for Neonatal Screening has been conducting its meetings since 1987. The professional society is committed to promoting the carrying out of appropriate screening for foetal, neonatal and infant sicknesses and disorders, world-wide. Their 350 members focus on a variety of projects, such as quality standards, teaching, commissioning research, and harmonizing current practices and protocols. Current goals include better communication between laboratory professionals and equipment manufacturers, and establishing contacts with parent and advocacy groups.
